New Delhi: Jagannath Rath Yatra has got the green signal from the top court in puri. Although the top court has put some conditions for this. The court has said that the Rath Yatra can be organized without compromising on the civilian health with the cooperation of the state and temple trusts. The apex court has said that even during the plague epidemic, the Rath Yatra took place between limited rules and devotees.

It is noteworthy that Puri Rath Yatra was banned this time in view of the Corona virus spread across the country against which petitions were filed in the court. The bench which was hearing these petitions included CJI SA Bowde, Justice AS Bopanna and Justice Dinesh Maheshwari. Today the Bench has given a decision to continue the Rath Yatra with conditions. Earlier, a 19-year-old Muslim student from Nayagarh district in Odisha had requested to reconsider the decision to stop the Jagannath Yatra. Aftab Hussain is a BA Economics student who moves for the top court. It is being called the second salabeg of the state on social media. Aftab Hussain has said that his father was also a devotee of God.

The student had filed an intervention petition in the Supreme Court through his lawyer PK Mahapatra. He had asked the Supreme Court to revisit his decision on Jagannath Yatra. The Supreme Court had said on 18 June that in view of public health and the protection of the interests of the citizens, scheduled visit to Puri in Odisha cannot be allowed on 23 June this year. 'If we allow this, Lord Jagannath will never forgive us.'
