Ukraine has carried out a significant overnight drone assault on Russia, targeting multiple regions and sparking fires at two key Russian energy facilities. According to reports, more than 158 Ukrainian drones were deployed, striking 15 regions across Russia, including the capital city, Moscow.

The Russian military stated that these drones were intercepted and destroyed; however, the attacks still resulted in a fire at an oil refinery in Moscow. The city's mayor confirmed that the blaze broke out in a “separate technical room” of the facility.

Sergei Sobyanin, the mayor of Moscow, reported that at least 11 drones targeted the capital and surrounding areas. In the Tver region, about 75 miles (120 km) from Moscow, loud explosions were heard near the Konakovo Power Station, where a fire reportedly broke out.

The governor of the Tver region, Igor Rudenya, confirmed that a fire caused by the attack in the Konakovsky district was successfully contained, though he did not provide specific details about the damage. Additionally, local authorities stated that drones attempted to attack the Kashira Power Plant in the Moscow region, but no fires, damage, or casualties were reported as a result.

Videos circulating on social media, verified by independent sources, show explosions and subsequent fires at both the Konakovo Power Station and the Moscow refinery. Ukrainian authorities have not commented on the incident, but the country has been intensifying its long-range drone strikes inside Russia over the past few months, frequently targeting strategic locations.
