Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky said  in a televised announcement on Thursday that his country has severed all diplomatic ties with Russia.

As per RT report , Zelensky compared the Russian attack on Ukraine to a Nazi invasion and urged Russian citizens to reject the government's decision to conduct a military strike. He said, Russia's early morning onslaught on Ukrainian soldiers was "villainous" and reminiscent to Nazi Germany's strike on the Soviet Union during World War II. He went on to say that Russia is on "the path of evil."

As he momentarily turned to Russian language at this point in his speech, Zelensky also appealed to the Russian people to reject what is occurring in Ukraine with huge rallies. He urged Ukrainians to help the country's military forces, including by picking up weapons and preparing for a war. He also pledged to withdraw personal sanctions against anyone eager to defend Ukraine, which he had imposed previously.

The Ukrainian president urged the country's media to "mobilise information" in favour of national unity."Report on how fiercely our military is battling," Zelensky said. He said that such information is scarce and that the forces require public backing, adding that  "the adversary has sustained heavy casualties" and that the harm will worsen.
