Legendary Political icon Uma Bharti  is celebrating her 64th Birthday today, 3 May, 2023. Uma Bharti was born on May 3, 1959 in Tikamgarh, Madhya Pradesh to a religious Lodhi family of peasants. She has attended school up to 6th standard. She led an unmarried life.

Uma Bharti is an Indian politician belonging to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Uma Bharti is known for her stringent religious beliefs and is popular as the 'sanyasin' politician. She played a key role in the Ram Janmabhoomi Movement of Ayodhya. Presently, she is the Union Minister for Water Resources & Ganga Rejuvenation.

Uma Bharti is joined the BJP at an early age, failing to contest her first parliamentary election in 1984. In 1989, she successfully contested the Khajuraho seat, and retained it in elections held in 1991, 1996 and 1998. In 1999, he won the constituency and Bhopal seat. Bharti organized various State level and Cabinet-level departments in the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Tourism, Youth Affairs and Sports, as well as coal and mines during the third ministry of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. After Narendra Modi became the Indian Prime Minister in 2014, she was appointed minister of water resources, river development and ganga rejuvenation, and held the post till September 2017.

Bharati was prominent in the controversial Ram Janmabhoomi movement of the 1980s and 1990s organized by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. She was present on the demolition of babri masjid, and was later acquitted by a special CBI court in connection with the charges in the incident. In the 2003 state assembly elections, she gave the BJP a landslide victory in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly. She defeated his Indian National Congress (Congress) rival by a margin of 25 percent from Malehara seat. He resigned as chief minister in August 2004, when an arrest warrant was issued against her over the 1994 Hubli riots case. After falling with the BJP, she briefly founded her political party before returning to Guna and was elected as a member of the Legislative Assembly in the state of Uttar Pradesh. She was later re-elected to the Lok Sabha, the lower house of India's parliament.

Uma Bharti was born on May 3, 1959 in a family of farmers at Dunda in Tikamgarh district of Madhya Pradesh. She studied in school till class VI. As a child, she showed great interest in religious texts like the Bhagavad Gita, which led to his being seen as a "spiritual" child. She was still starting to give religious discourse as a child, which brought her in contact with Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia, who later became her political mentor. She describes herself as a "religious missionary" in her younger age.
