We can't get in touch with Anil Deshmukh, we don't know where he is: ED

Mumbai: Former Maharashtra Home Minister and NCP leader Anil Deshmukh has been summoned four times so far in a money laundering case but has not appeared. Yes, the ED had called Anil Deshmukh and his son for questioning last Monday, though both did not arrive and now the ED has made a statement after the two did not arrive. In this statement, ED said, "We are not able to get in touch with Deshmukh, we don't know where he is.''

Recently ED sources said, "We are not able to contact Anil Deshmukh. We don't know where he is. They don't even know their exact whereabouts. We are awaiting the Supreme Court order. We hope that after today's order, he will cooperate in the investigation." So far four summons have been issued by the ED to Anil Deshmukh and his son Hrishikesh Deshmukh but he has not appeared even once. In fact, the ED had summoned Anil Deshmukh and his son to record their statements under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

Anil Deshmukh's case is being heard in the Supreme Court today (August 3rd). The case is reportedly related to bribery and extortion worth crores of rupees in Mumbai.
