THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Union Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan has tested positive for Coronavirus, informed by  the party sources.

The senior Kerala BJP leader, who was seen at a few functions in Kerala on Friday, came to know  about the virus infection  after he went for Civid-19  testing as a mandatory requirement to travel to Bengaluru. He is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kozhikode (Calicut)  where his condition is stated to be normal, as informed by the authorities.

Muraleedharan had to isolate himself in 2020, when the pandemic broke out in the country, after attending a meeting in the state capital at a prestigious health institute, where a few medical experts tested positive for Covid.

India Corona Watch:  As per latest updates, India's active caseload is at 4,72,169.  It accounts for 1.34 percent of all cases in the country. The daily positivity rate is 9.28 percent, while the weekly positivity rate is 5.66 percent. With the recovery of 40,895 patients in the last 24 hours, the total number of COVID patients recovered since the outbreak began currently stands at 3,44,12,740. The current rate of recovery is 97.30 percent.
