CAA: Union Minister Ravi Shankar raised curtain on violence, name of this organization came out on the basis of evidence

Union Minister in the Government of India, Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the role of the Popular Front of India (PFI) is coming out in the violence during the protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). He said that the Union Home Ministry will decide on the action against this organization on the basis of evidence. Ravi Shankar said that apart from the violence, the wires of the PFI are also joining the banned organization Student Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). In view of these, the Home Ministry is going to decide to take action against the PFI.

Earlier Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) OP Singh had questioned the role of PFI in the state's violence on 19 December in protests against CAA. He also wrote a letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs to ban this organization. In the case of violence, UP police arrested three of its members including the state president of PFI. PFI is a Delhi based organization, which was established on 22 November 2006.

In his statement, Ravi Shankar lashed out at opposition parties for supporting anti-CAA protesters. He also assured that the CAA would not take away the citizenship of any Indian. Ravi Shankar said, 'I support CAA. Some people are opposing the new law without understanding it. Congress is not ready to understand this, which is more surprising. The CPI (M), CPI and other Left parties deliberately do not want to understand this law. This will not apply to any citizen of the country. It neither gives citizenship to any Indian nor takes away their citizenship. He said that the proposal passed by the Kerala Assembly against the CAA is unconstitutional. The CAA has passed Parliament and all states are bound to implement it.
