Raipur: The central government has given relief to the common man by reducing the prices of petrol and diesel recently. Some states have reduced the prices of oil in their own country, but some states have not given any relief so far. On Saturday, Union Minister Smriti Irani questioned why the Congress-ruled states are not reducing fuel prices after the central government gave relief to consumers for the past month.
In fact, Smriti Irani was talking to the media at the BJP office in Chhattisgarh, due to which she also attacked the Gandhi family and said that the Gandhi family did nothing for the development of Amethi, even though the area has been a family stronghold for a long time. Rahul Gandhi had become an MP from Amethi in UP several times, but in the 2019 general elections, Irani had defeated Gandhi.
Praising the central government, she said that PM Narendra Modi's government reduced the prices of petrol and diesel by Rs 9 and Rs 7 and incurred a burden of Rs 1 lakh crore to ensure relief to the people. She also said that beneficiaries of the Ujjwala Scheme got a discount of Rs 200 per cylinder. Free corona vaccine and ration and many similar humanitarian measures were taken in the interest of the nation. She asked why Congress-ruled states are not reducing oil prices. Union Minister Smriti Irani said that for 50 years, the same family was owned in Amethi, as a result of which 80 per cent of the households there did not have an electricity connection or toilet before 2014. There was not even a district magistrate's office. She further said that Rahul Gandhi visited foreign countries but the first passport office in Amethi was set up by Prime Minister Modi and the then External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
