Union MoS Unveil district export plans for Jammu UT

Jammu & Kashmir Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha has expressed optimism about the export potential of the Union Territory (UT) and said that endeavors will be made to boost the exports by three times in the next 5 years.

The Lt. Governor's comments came after Manoj Sinha and Anupriya Patel, the Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, on Friday launched the District Export Plans.

The programme aims to assist all stakeholders, including exporters of carpets and shawls, growers, and those generally involved in art, craft, and horticulture, to enable them to export their products and reap favourable future results. 

The participants thanked the government for taking the initiative and hoped that similar actions would continue in the future. EU suggests a ban on Russian gold imports and changes to the food trade Jammu and Kashmir has very high export potential. For the past two years, we have been collaborating on this with the Ministry of Commerce. Today, a thorough plan has been created for each district, Sinha stated in a media interview.

"In the near future, we will strive to export from every district in Jammu & Kashmir. We are shooting for a three-fold growth in exports over the next five years," he said. The Lt. Governor added that the region possesses "several comparative advantages" like climate and rich art and craft and culture.

With a focus to convert all 20 districts into an export hub,  Jammu & Kashmir UT unveiled its District Export Plans in presence of honourable Union MoS, Commerce & Industry Smt.@AnupriyaSPatel.
