Janmashtami 2023: Mathura, the revered birthplace of Lord Krishna, is renowned for its splendid Janmashtami celebrations. However, this year's festivities at the Shri Krishna Janmasthan Temple will take on a special significance as they pay tribute to the dedicated scientists of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) whose relentless efforts ensured the success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission.
The Janmashtami celebrations at the Sri Krishna Janmasthan Temple will center around the Chandrayaan-3 mission. In a symbolic gesture, the ornate pavilion where Lord Krishna will be seated at midnight on September 7 has been christened "Somnath Pushp Bangla," in honor of ISRO Chief S Somnath. Even the attire adorning the deity has been named after the Pragyan rover, aptly titled "Pragyan Prabhas."
Kapil Sharma, the Secretary of Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Trust and Shri Krishna Janmasthan Seva Sansthan, expressed the collective joy and enchantment of all Indians in response to Chandrayaan-3's success. He underscored the significance of this achievement in the context of Sanatan Dharma and its profound understanding of celestial bodies, particularly the moon, which has been eloquently restored by the accomplished scientists at ISRO.
Sharma remarked, "Chandrayaan-3's triumphant journey to the South Pole of the Moon is a remarkable feat. Every citizen of our nation bows in reverence to the determination, sacrifices, and unwavering dedication of these scientists. Therefore, as part of the grand celebration of the 5250th birth anniversary of Chandravanshi Lord Krishna, his floral pavilion is now known as 'Somnath Pushp-Bangla,' echoing the name of the ISRO leader."
Last month, India etched its name in history by becoming the first nation to successfully land on the Moon's South Pole and only the fourth country worldwide to achieve a gentle lunar landing.
