Geneva: The United Nations (UN) has declared Mufti Noor Wali Mehsud (Mufti Noor Wali Mehsud), leader of the Pakistani terrorist organization Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). The 1267 Al-Qaeda Sanctions Committee of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has included Mehsud's name in its ISIL and al-Qaeda ban list. Along with confiscation of Mehsud's property, travel and weapons have been banned on him.

Mehsud is a supporter of the terrorist organization al-Qaeda. He has a connection with al Qaeda. He is conducting his activities in Pakistan as an al-Qaeda affiliate. Mehsud is listed according to paragraphs 2 and 4 of the subsequent 2368 (2017). The US Department of State tweeted and welcomed the decision. The tweet reads, 'It is welcome news that United Nations has declared Tehreek-e Taliban Pakistan leader Mufti Noor Wali Mehsud an international terrorist. Tehreek-e Taliban Pakistan is responsible for carrying out many terrorist incidents in Pakistan. In September 2019, the United States declared Noor Wali a terrorist.

After the death of former Tehreek-e Taliban Pakistan leader Mullah Fazlullah in June 2018, Mehsud was made the leader of TTP. According to the US State Department, Tehreek-e Taliban Pakistan, under the leadership of Noor Wali, has claimed responsibility for several dangerous terrorist attacks across the country.
