In Unlock-1, tourists will get a chance of safari at the Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve from Sunday. After NTCA, now the Forest Department has given its permission. The guidelines issued by NTCA clearly stated that the park excursion would be only with 50% seating capacity and thermal screening would be done before entering the park. Vehicle tires will also be infection-free. Every vehicle will have a sanitizer and tourists including drivers, guides, face masks, face shields, gloves, etc. will have to be used.

The park was closed to tourists about three months ago due to infection of Covid-19. Wild Life Warden Rajiv Bharatri has confirmed this. According to the sources, the wildlife administration has asked the park administration to open the NTC guidelines and currently open three gates of the park. Dhikala and Bijrani zones are closed from June 15 due to monsoon, hence these gates will not be opened. Rajaji Park is the second tiger reserve in the state. It has not yet been decided to open it for tourists.
