BAHRAICH: In a joint operation, police from Jalandhar and Bahraich in Uttar Pradesh have arrested three persons in connection with the murder of a cloth merchant in the city of Punjab.

On November 14, Gurpreet, Shivdas, and Deepak Sharma committed the crime. They came by train to Bahraich  Bahraich, where one of the accused's relatives resides. They intended to use a false identity to remain in Bahraich.
Station House Officer (SHO), Visheshwarganj, Virendra Singh said, they were made aware of the three criminals' presence in Bahraich by the Jalandhar police.

"We were informed that one of the suspects, Deepak Sharma, may have been hiding out in the Gujraghat hamlet in Netaipurwa because he had a relative there. Two homes in that village where outsiders had lately arrived were tracked by us "Singh added.

After being alerted, a Jalandhar police squad visited both of the residences in the village while pretending to be loan providers and nailed them.

The three accused pleaded innocent and said they were unaware of Kunal's murder when they were brought before a court for remand, said Gurpreet Singh, SHO for Jalandhar Zone II.

The SHO added that Kunal, the victim, and Deepak, who also worked at a fabric store, got into a verbal altercation when Kunal allegedly damaged Kunal's phone "

Although Deepak begged Kunal to fix his phone, Kunal was not yet willing to do so. On November 14, the victim and Deepak got into a confrontation. Friends of Deepak, Gurpreet, and Shivdas arrived at the scene in the interim and made unsuccessful attempts to calm them down. Kunal was struck by the trio with an iron rod. Kunal succumbed to injuries after two days" he said.
