Lucknow: A newly-wed bride ran away from her in-laws' house in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura with jewelry and Rs 2 lakh cash the next day of the honeymoon. The victim husband has lodged a case against his wife and two others in Kotwali. According to the groom, the neighbors had also taken Rs 1 lakh to get him married.

According to the report, this case has come to light from the Gaushala Nagar area of Vrindavan Kotwali. Santosh Kumar Bhagat was married to the woman, a resident of Aligarh, on November 15. On November 16, the next day of the wedding, the groom brought her home. When Santosh woke up around 6.30 am on November 17, he found his wife was not there. After this, he searched for his wife in the whole house, but she was not found anywhere. When the family members got a whiff of it, it was found that two lakh rupees and ornaments kept in the house were also missing.

Groom Santosh Kumar Bhagat has informed that the marriage was accomplished by neighbors and he had also taken Rs 1 lakh for it. The groom also spent a lot of money on the wedding. The family does not understand why the wife fled the house on the second day of marriage, while Kotwali in-charge Vijay Kumar Singh said that three other people, including the bride, have been named by the victim husband. An investigation has been launched into the matter.
