Targeting religious fanatics amid the second phase of voting for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave an interview. In this interview, he said that the dream of 'Ghazwa-e-Hind will never be fulfilled, the government will work according to the Constitution and not work under Shariah law.' At the same time, CM Yogi further said on the hijab controversy that, 'A proper dress code is in force in schools and should be followed. Never asked the public in UP to wear saffron because what they wear is their personal choice. Under the Constitution, every girl child will be protected, respected and self-reliant.' With this, he said, "I can say with full clarity that this is the New India and this is the India of the most popular leader of the world, Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In this new India, development is for all and there will be no appeasement of anyone.''

He further said, ''The government is working on the agenda of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas. CM Yogi clearly said that India will work according to the Constitution, not Shariat. I want to say this clearly that even the dream of Ghazwa-e-Hind will not be fulfilled till Qayamat." I firmly believe that the system of the country should be run according to the Indian Constitution and we cannot impose our individual beliefs, our fundamental rights, our personal likes and dislikes on the country or institutions.

Reacting to Asaduddin Owaisi's remarks, he said, "Hijab is a fundamental right.'' At the same time, on the issue of one day a girl wearing a hijab will become PM, CM Yogi Adityanath said that ''It is for the freedom and rights of every girl that PM Modi has kept. Triple talaq has been put on hold and it is a decision taken to ensure justice and respect and empowerment of the girl child. All we can say is that the system of the country will not run according to Shariah, but according to the Constitution. Under the Constitution, every girl child will be protected, respected and made self-reliant.''
