LUCKNOW: In the coming weeks, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will launch the fourth phase of Mission Shakti, a government-led initiative to empower women that began in 2020.
Chief Secretary DS Mishra said on Saturday that all ministries should focus on boosting various facets of women's security during a review meeting to assess preparations for the launch. Furthermore, all departments should guarantee that their operations are publicised on social media and other channels. He said, a portal should be established containing information on how women's lives can be improved and how they can raise their income. The webpage should also include information on the many government programmes that help women.
In the fourth step, the government will assess whether sexual harassment prevention committees have been established in all offices and whether they are effective. Women will be educated on what constitutes acceptable and unacceptable behaviour, as well as the legal options open to them if they find themselves in this scenario. All educational institutions would be informed of the women's helpline numbers.
Under the School Chalo Abhiyan, Mishra believes a separate campaign for girls should be undertaken. A list of those girls who are regularly absent from school should be made, and their parents and guardians should be contacted to learn why they are away.
Women achievers should be asked to speak to students to inspire them with their tales, and art competitions should be established in schools to raise awareness about women's security and empowerment.
