Yesterday, in a bold attempt to demonstrate the effectiveness and non-lethality of the TASER gun which is a non-lethal electroshock weapon, UP DGP Javeed Ahmad surprised his colleagues.

He did this after DSP-ADG rank officers showed their unwillingness to do so. A video was taken capturing him doing so and is already viral on various social media sites where people are applauding Ahmad for his bold leadership skills.
In his praise, The IPS Association hailed Ahmad on Twitter. "Kudos to @Uppolice DGP @javeeddgpup for taking Taser shot on himself during a demo. Taser a non lethal electroshock," said its official twitter handle. 

The video features Ahmad holding the hands of  two people as he took the shot and  fell on the ground. As he struggled to stand back on feet, his colleagues supported him.

Taser gun is an electroshock weapon which fires dart-like electrodes at the target. Due to electric shock the target suffers neuromuscular incapacitation resulting in temporary immobility.  His audacity is hoped to prove a learning point for the fellow officers in correct use of the Taser gun.
