Lucknow: An official release from the Yogi Adityanath-led government of Uttar Pradesh said that as part of its initiative to inspire people to do better, the government will recognise aspirational development blocks that perform extremely well in development operations. The government will award such development blocks a prize of Rs 1 crore.
The action plan for the fiscal year 2023–2024 makes a provision for allocating the budgeted amount to be spent in the following three months on programmes operating under increased demand.
According to a formal announcement, this amount will be given under the action plan to support aspirational development blocks in the state that have excelled in construction projects. After evaluating the aspirational development blocks' performance on several criteria, the prize money will be given to them. "The Planning Department has also been given a budget of Rs 5 crore for this. The prize for exceptional performance may be given to no more than five development blocks, it stated.
In addition, the Quick Economic Development Scheme has allocated Rs 1500 crores to the Planning Department. The sum will be made available as soon as the Chief Minister makes his recommendation for the projects suggested by the elected officials.
Similarly, for the successful implementation of the 'Family Identity Card namely "One Family, One Identity" scheme, an amount of Rs 55 lakh will be spent on human resources, training and IT among other things. A budget of Rs 2.20 crore is proposed for this.
