Moradabad: A man has been detained for threatening a four-year-old toddler by putting a pistol in his mouth. The man, known as Ajit Kumar, 27, was arrested on Sunday after a video recording of the event went viral on social media on Saturday.

Ajit Kumar was allegedly having an affair with the child's mother, and the child had witnessed the two in a 'compromising posture,' according to authorities. Kumar admitted after questioning that he was scared the boy would tell his father what he had seen.

Suresh Kumar, the Dilari police station's station house officer, said, "At the time of the event, the accused was drunk. With a country-made pistol and three ammunition, he was apprehended. He said that he was out of his mind and that he recorded himself while doing the act. He himself published the footage on social media." Ajit Kumar has been charged with kidnapping, malicious insult, and criminal intimidation under sections 363, 504, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code, as well as section 75 of the Child Protection Act and section 25 of the Arms Act.
