FIROZABAD: In a bizarre incident, a man uploaded photographs of his wife taking a bath on his Facebook account, in a bid to increase his number of followers on social media.

The Facebook account was removed when the wife complained to the police.  The police have also registered a case against the man under Section 67 of the IT Act.

The woman's husband reportedly works in a circus and resides in Uttam Nagar in Delhi, according to the complaint. He is an addict of social media, his wife said.

She claimed that she and her husband frequently spoke via video chats, and on one such occasion, he took a recording of her soaking in the tub and posted it to his Facebook page.  He said to her that he had done it to gain more followers after she found out.

He resisted when she requested him to remove the pictures.

The case had been opened following the wife's complaint, according to SP (rural) Ranvijay Singh, and the couple will soon be called in to give a statement at the police station. Appropriate action would be taken after that, he added.
