Lockdown: 16 youths walked from UP to Bihar on foot

Chandauli: Uttar Pradesh Police has rescued 16 such youths who were on foot from Varanasi to Samastipur, for this they were on their way to the railway track. The youth had to take such a step due to lockdown as they had no transport facility to go home. He works in Calicut, Kerala and had somehow reached Jhansi by train before the rail service stopped.

A youth told the police that, "From Jhansi, we took a lift in the truck and reached Varanasi, but after this we could not find any means. We had no choice but to walk." When these boys reached Kuchaman railway station, SP Hemant Kutiyal of this place got information about it and they rescued these youths. One boy said that we were walking along the railway trek so that we do not deviate.

On Thursday, the SP, with special permission, arranged a vehicle for them and now they are being sent to their house. In another similar incident, Meerut police have rescued a Mazdoor, who along with his wife and 4 children, was on foot in search of food. This entire family, including children, had eaten nothing for the past 48 hours.
