Lucknow: Police have arrested two accused in the gang rape of a minor girl in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur district. The complaint was made on March 25. The names of these accused have been given as Amir and Asif, who are brothers in the relationship. His abba Sharafat is also accused of threatening the victim's family. The arrest was made on April 1 (Friday).

 

 

 

According to media reports, the case pertains to the Chilkana police station area. Here, the two sons of village pradhan Sharafat Ali, Amir and Asif, were accused of rape by a minor girl of the same village giving the pretext of marriage. The victim and the accused are of the same fate. Both the accused were absconding after the allegations were made. A day before their arrest, the police had bulldozed a portion of the accused's house. In the video that went viral, the local SHO was seen giving 48 hours to the family members of the accused to present the accused. Failing to do so, the house was said to be demolished with a bulldozer. On the spot, a bulldozer is also seen breaking the staircase in front of the house. 

The police also conducted a beat of drums at the house of the accused. Within 24 hours of the bulldozers reaching the house, the two accused climbed into the hands of the police. Speaking to the media, Saharanpur SSP Akash Tomar said, "The two accused were arrested at 8.55 pm on April 1. Action has been taken against them under sections 452, 376D, 342, 232 and 506 IPC.''
