UP prepares for Global Investor Summit, Targets Rs.10-La-Cr

LUCKNOW: The Global Investors Summit is all ready to be held in Uttar Pradesh from February 10 to 12, 2022. The  state Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his administration are busy preparing for it. A target has been set to bring an investment worth Rs 10-Lakh crores in Uttar Pradesh through the summit.

Between December 9 and December 19, ministers from Uttar Pradesh will visit 19 cities in 17 different countries in preparation for the Global Investors' Summit (GIS), which is slated for early in 2019. There will be multiple roadshows per day as the road shows will operate in simultaneous mode.

A schedule had been verbally approved by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He may travel separately closer to the event in January. The required paperwork for visas and other things has been initiated by the partner industries.

The event seeks to bring over Rs 10 lakh crore in investments to the state and has engaged the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

Suresh Khanna, the state's finance minister, will lead roadshows in London, New York, and San Francisco between December 9 and 15, as planned.

Between December 9 and December 14, Nand Gopal Gupta, aka "Nandi," the cabinet minister for industries and infrastructure development, and Jitin Prasada, the minister for public works, will lead roadshows in Frankfurt, Brussels, and Stockholm.

Speaker of the UP Vidhan Sabha and former industrial development minister Satish Mahana will visit Canada on the same dates to hold roadshows in Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver. Dharampal Singh, cabinet minister for the departments of civil defence, Muslim waqf, dairy development, political pension, minority welfare, and animal husbandry, will accompany him.

As a partner nation, Canada has pledged funding for the UP GIS 2023. On December 16, Dharampal Singh will also fly to Los Angeles.

Between December 9 to December 16, Jaiveer Singh, the minister of tourism, and Ashish Patel, the minister of technical education, consumer protection, and weights and measures, would visit Tokyo and Seoul.

Rakesh Sachan, the MSME minister, will lead the roadshow in Dubai and arrive there on December 11.
Between December 13 and December 16, Power Minister Arvind Kumar Sharma and Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh will visit Sydney and Singapore City.

Brijesh Pathak and Keshav Prasad Maurya, the two deputy chief ministers, will depart in different directions on December 13 and 16, respectively.

Sanjay Nishad, the fisheries minister, would accompany Pathak to Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires, while Yogendra Upadhyay, the IT minister, would travel with Maurya to Hague and Paris.
