Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav and other members of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly were seen as very aggressive since early morning on Friday (September 23) on the last day of the monsoon session of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly. Akhilesh Yadav, along with 12 MLAs, reached Raj Bhavan in the morning and met Governor Anandiben Patel and submitted a memorandum demanding to stop the excesses with Azam Khan.
As soon as he returned from Raj Bhavan and reached the Assembly, the SP chief wanted to raise the issue of Allahabad University fees. On this, Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana said that let the Question Hour be done first. Enraged by this, SP MLAs staged a walkout. The party MLAs alleged that the government was not answering questions on issues related to the public interest. Akhilesh said that the House ran for only four days, on many questions the government did not even answer. Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) MLAs also joined the SP MLAs in the walkout and foot march.
Opposition leaders raised the issue of fee hikes in Allahabad University and said that the government is not doing well with the students. As soon as the House assembled at 11 am on Friday, Leader of Opposition Akhilesh Yadav tried to raise the issue of students' agitation and inflation in Allahabad University. To this, Speaker Satish Mahana asked him to wait till the Question Hour. Dissatisfied with this, SP MLAs walked out of the House. After this, SP MLAs and party workers led by Akhilesh Yadav left the Assembly on foot for the party office.
