LUCKNOW: In a major boost, the e Uttar Pradesh government has taken ta decision to upgrade the security system in the banking sector
Sanjay Prasad, principal secretary at home, said that to improve the security of banks, monitoring systems and data storage would be upgraded.
Following a meeting with bank executives, Prasad said that bank employees had received further instructions to monitor the circulation of fake money and improve client access to Internet banking.
"All bank branches, money lockers, and ATM locations should be required to have adequate CCTV arrangements. Bank security systems, alarms, sirens, and other devices need to be examined frequently. The banks should also put in place adequate fire safety measures" the principal secretary added.
All banks must have proper fire prevention measures in place, and bank managers have been ordered to compel frequent fire audits. The administration also demanded improved communication between the state's police and the banking industry.
Earlier on April 17, UP CM Yogi Adityanath had held a meeting with the officials in Gorakhpur and asked officials to expedite work under various government schemes and deal strictly with miscreants. Reviewing the law-and-order situation and several development projects, the chief minister had said the projects should be carried out sans corruption and special care should be taken to ensure transparency, quality, and their timely completion.
