USA: Elon Musk took to Twitter to back up one of his early pledges in a long video. That promise has been fulfilled.

Videos up to 60 minutes long can now be uploaded from the web by Twitter Blue subscribers. Maximum file size is 2GB.

The new update is aimed at improving the usability of the platform for video creators.

Musk has posted some helpful updates on Twitter over the past few days. It's a welcome change of pace from the constant cacophony of controversy that has become the norm for Twitter.

The platform has introduced some intriguing changes, including view count, showing stock and cryptocurrency prices, and now longer videos. Long videos can change platforms forever.

Prior to this change, Twitter Blue users were only able to upload videos of up to 10 minutes in length and 512MB in size.

The platform is now more attractive to video makers, thanks to the growth of 60 Minutes. The social media platform, however, has not improved the quality of the videos.

Only web can be used for uploading long videos. For Android and iOS uploads, the previous restrictions still apply.

Don't worry if the video quality is not to your liking. Twitter said it would consider increasing the video quality.

The business said, "We work to maintain the highest possible video quality for all videos uploaded to our platform.

"We may modify or adapt your original video," it added, for distribution, syndication, publication, or broadcast by us and our partners.

Long videos present Twitter with unique difficulties. For example, how will the platform handle piracy? Posting movies or TV episodes is made easy with the ability to upload 60-minute videos.

Similarly, there is also the issue of demonetisation. Twitter may display many of the same ads as YouTube, or it may try something different. The answers to these questions will be available soon.
