New Delhi: There has been an uproar in the Rajya Sabha today i.e. on Tuesday over the statement of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. In fact, raising this issue, Union Minister Piyush Goyal has demanded an apology from him. He said, 'Yesterday in Alwar, Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge gave an indecent speech. The language used is unfortunate. I condemn the way he used foul language, said baseless things, and tried to present lies in front of the country. I ask him to apologize.' With this, the Union Minister said, 'He (Mallikarjun Kharge) should apologize to the BJP, Parliament, and the people of this country who formed the BJP government with full majority. He (Kharge) showed us a glimpse of their mentality and jealousy.'
With this, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said, 'I cannot believe that Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge can stoop so low and make such objectionable remarks. He should understand his responsibilities as a leader of a political party. We are not enemies, we are rivals. It is distasteful, unfortunate, and unnecessary.'
What did Khadge say? - In fact, on Friday in Alwar's public meeting, the Congress President had said, 'Former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi sacrificed their lives for the sake of the country and asked, the leaders of our party have given their lives, What did you (BJP) do? Has even any dog died in your home for the country? Has anyone sacrificed? No. But still, they are patriots and if we say anything then we are traitors.' With this, Kharge said, "They are ending democracy in this way. Sometimes the murderers change. Sometimes the dagger changes. These people are trying to destroy democracy and the constitution.''
