Patna: The death toll in Bihar liquor cases has crossed 70. At the same time, politics has also intensified regarding this matter. Where on one hand the Bihar government is talking about taking action against the criminals, on the other hand, the BJP is continuously raising questions about Nitish Kumar. At the same time, the government and the opposition are at loggerheads over compensation to the family members of the deceased. Meanwhile, Bihar's Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav has attacked the BJP.

He said that the BJP never raised any issue on behalf of the public during this assembly session. What is happening in BJP-ruled states? He has no answer for this. If they want to end liquor prohibition in the state, they should say it clearly. Let us tell you that on Monday before this, the BJP created a lot of ruckus in the assembly and along with the demand for compensation to the victims, there was a demand to form a committee to investigate the matter. The BJP alleged that the Nitish government of Bihar is failing to implement prohibition in the state.

On the other hand, CM Nitish Kumar is continuously refusing to give compensation. They say that giving compensation will defeat the very purpose of prohibition in Bihar. While BJP MP Sushil Modi says that in 2018, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had said that if alcohol is proven to be the cause of death, compensation would be given. He had promised Rs 4 lakh to the families of the spurious liquor victims. More than 70 people have died in the Saran spurious liquor tragedy.
