US accuses China of developing 'brain-control weaponry' that controls opponents

China: According to the US, China is developing brain control weapons that might be used to immobilise and control opponents rather than killing them. China's Academy of Military Medical Sciences and 11 affiliated research institutes have been sanctioned by the United States for developing 'biotechnology' to serve the military forces, including 'purported brain-control weaponry.'

The Commerce Department did not go into detail about the weaponry when it blacklisted the Chinese institutions, but a second tranche of military documents written in 2019 reveals hints at what Beijing is aiming to achieve.

Instead of 'destroying bodies,' the paper recommends that China concentrate on 'paralysing and dominating the opponent' by 'attacking the enemy's resolve to resist.' The research institutes were sanctioned by the Commerce Department in a memo last week, and the Washington Times obtained and translated the 2019 documents.

The Academy of Military Sciences and its affiliates have been placed on the 'entity list,' which means that American companies can no longer export or transfer items to them without first obtaining a licence. It comes amid warnings to US corporations from various government offices that China is attempting to buy American technology in crucial fields such as biotech.
