The United States President Donald Trump on Monday announced over the microblogging site the administration of the first Covid-19 vaccine as shipments of frozen vials reached the United States to battle the coronavirus disease. The recent reports says a critical care nurse, Sandra Lindsay is the first person in the United States to receive the Pfizer coronavirus jab.

The first coronavirus vaccine was given at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center located in Queens, New York. "I feel hopeful today," said Sandra Lindsay, the critical care nurse at New York's Long Island Jewish Medical Center, after receiving the shot.

The US will vaccinate health care workers first, who along with nursing home residents, have spent months battling a coronavirus that still is increasing in the country and around the world. As a big blow towards the largest vaccination campaign in the US history, shots made by Pfizer Inc and its German partner BioNTech are the first authorised for emergency use by the Food and Drug Administration. Not only US but also several other countries have given their nod of acceptance for the vaccine, including the UK, which started vaccinating last week.

Pfizer COVID vaccine will be given in less than 24-hrs,, says Trump
