US to vaccinate 20 million this December, Covid 19 vaccination

The United States, the World's sixth country to approve the Covid 19 vaccine roll out for the general public has said that the government is  looking to vaccinate 20 million (2 crore) people this month. The health department hopes to get the second vaccine usage by next week. The second vaccine, developed by Moderna and the National Institutes of Health, is expected to come through next week.

Expert advisory panel to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the emergency use authorization (EUA) to the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech. The decision was made after a long 9 hour debate on the vaccine's safety and efficacy data. The reports says, 17 of the advisors in the FDA expert panel voted in favor of granting EUA to Pfizer-BioNTech's COVID-19 vaccine, while four voted against and one abstained. 

UK the first country in the world to roll out Pfizer vaccine on Tuesday has reported that two NHS workers reported anaphylactoid reactions associated with receiving the vaccine hence it advised the people with a history of significant allergic reactions against getting the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech. People with history of severe adverse allergic reactions were excluded from Pfizer's late-stage trials. Late-stage trial data of the vaccine has found the two-dose vaccine to be 95% effective. The efficacy was consistent across age, race, and ethnicity demographics, the companies said.
