Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has stated that the United States has no compassion for Muslim countries in the region, as per the president's official website.

In a phone chat with his Iraqi counterpart Barham Salih on Sunday, Raisi said that it has become clear that the external force is just interested in its own interests and hegemonic aims.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani reportedly stated that Iran supports Iraq in advancing its unity, independence, security, and regional and international position, emphasising that any insecurity in Iraq would be detrimental to the entire area.

According to Raisi, the extent of Iran-"brotherly Iraq's and friendly" relations goes beyond that of two neighbours.  Meanwhile, the Iraqi President emphasised the importance of strengthening bilateral collaboration with Iran in order to address regional difficulties, placing a high priority on regional stability and security.

Regional crises can be resolved exclusively by the countries in the region, without the need for outside intervention,  Salih said.
