New Delhi: World veteran and number one player Novak Djokovic had to go out from the tournament. The Serbia player withdrew from the middle match due to a shoulder injury In the fourth round of the tournament, he faced Switzerland's Wawrinka.  Djokovic sought medical help after losing the second set.

He returned to the court after examining the physio, but due to more pain, he decided to quit the tournament. Before the injury, two sets had been played between the two, with Wawrinka leading 6-4, 7-5 and needing just one set to win. He was leading 2–1 in the third set as well.

Now 23rd player Wawrinka will face Russia's Danil Medvedev in the quarter-finals. Novak Djokovic's injury was revealed early in the tournament. He was also seen battling his shoulder injury in the second round against Argentina's Huan Lenedaro. Although he made a great comeback. Novak Djokovic told that he does not want to talk about his injury.
