Some scientists in the US are working on a smartphone app that can protect people's privacy and tell if they have come in contact with someone who was found to be infected with the coronavirus. These scientists include a scientist of Indian origin. The team of researchers including Mayank Waria of Boston University, USA is developing this app.

India is close to making Corona vaccine, major success

Using this app in Bluetooth-equipped cell phones, a person can be informed whether he/she have come in close contact with someone infected with Covid-19. Researchers said that anyone can use it, whether they have Covid-19 or not. They have stated that the app broadcasts Bluetooth signals through nearby cell phones and can capture them, provided that it is installed in that phone.

All the uploaded information is verified by the public health agency, and all app users should install it voluntarily. Waria has stated that the app does not disclose personal information to anyone.
