Lucknow: A man killed his wife by cutting her with a shovel following a minor dispute in Uttar Pradesh's Barabanki district, police said on Sunday. After committing this horrific incident, the accused husband did not even escape anywhere, but kept hitting the wife on the neck for about 10 minutes, until the woman's entire body bled. As soon as the villagers got the news of this, they caught hold of the husband and beat him up and handed him over to the police. The incident took place in Zainabad Majre Baburiha village under Satrikh police station area of Barabanki district.

Ajay Kumar, a resident of Zainabad Majre Baburiha, was married to Varsha, daughter of Ramshankar, a resident of Sikandarpur in the Satrikh area, about 15 years ago, with whom the two have four children. According to wife Varsha's parents, husband Ajay Kumar often tortured their daughter Varsha. He used to beat her up even on every small thing. He had also told this to his family many times, but the family members used to convince Varsha and send her to her in-laws' house, but today in a minor argument, he killed their girl.

According to the family members of the deceased woman, Varsha was sleeping on a cot. Meanwhile, her husband Ajay attacked her with a shovel after a minor dispute. He hit Varsha's neck several times with a shovel, killing Varsha on the spot. According to the information, Ajay was in anger so much that even after Varsha's death, he continued to hit her on the neck for about 10 minutes. Barabanki Additional Superintendent of Police Dr Akhilesh Narayan Singh has told that a man named Ajay has attacked his wife Varsha with a shovel and killed her in a minor argument. The accused husband has been arrested with a shovel from the spot and further legal action is being taken.
