Lucknow: A judge was injured in firing on Friday evening in ADJ Court No. 6 of the District and Sessions Court complex located in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. The bullet hit his thigh, police reached after receiving the information and took the injured judge to the hospital, where the doctors operated him and took out the bullet. Right now, the judge is said to be in good condition. 

In fact, a stampede broke out in the Mirzapur Civil Court complex on Friday (January 20) evening when gunshots were heard inside the courtroom. The incident took place on Friday evening in the chamber of the Additional District Sessions Judge. It is said that Judge Talevar Singh was coming to sit in the courtroom and while wearing the gown, his license revolver kept in his waist fell down. Judge Talevar Singh himself was injured by the bullet from the revolver. In a hurry, the police personnel took the judge to the Divisional Hospital, where the doctors removed the bullet after the operation, at present the judge is said to be out of danger.

Superintendent of Police Santosh Mishra has formed a team of ADM Shiv Pratap Shukla and ASP City to investigate the matter. The team will investigate together with the judiciary and will investigate the cause of the incident. ASP City Srikant Prajapati said that information was received about ADJ Talevar Singh being injured by a bullet. According to the judge, the bullet was fired when the licensed revolver fell into the chamber while wearing the gown. It will be investigated in collaboration with the judiciary. Judge Talevar Singh is a resident of Bulandshahr and has come to the Mirzapur district on 6 July 2022. The court sits in court number 6 located in the complex. He also has the additional charge of the POCSO Act.
