Lucknow: A case of giving triple talaq has come to light in Uttar Pradesh's Agra. The Thana Etmadaula police arrested the accused in the case of uttering talaq to his wife three times. Police say he was on the run to Saudi Arabia. In a statement issued by the Agra police, inspector Satyadev Sharma, in charge of Etmadaula police station, said, "Afsana has lodged an FIR at the police station alleging that the in-laws are demanding dowry.''
In the complaint, Afsana also stated that Shohar works in Saudi Arabia. He had come home and was threatening a second marriage. During this time, he said Triple Talaq. Husband Salman Khan alias Ikrar Khan is said to be originally a resident of the Bannadevi area of Aligarh. The Agra police had launched a search for the accused in the case on the complaint of the victim. After which, on Saturday (April 9, 2022), the accused Salman Khan alias Ikrar was arrested from the fish culvert. After the arrest, the police took the accused to the police station and interrogated him.
It is being told that the police have also called the accused's wife Afsana to the police station and questioned her. Agra police has assured the woman that if the allegation is found to be true after the investigation of the case, action will be taken against the accused Salman under relevant sections.
