Lucknow: The dates for the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh have been announced. While holding a press conference, the Election Commission said that voting will be conducted in 7 phases in UP. Under this, voting will be held from February 10 to March 7. The results of the UP assembly elections will be released on March 10. According to the Election Commission, voting will be held in the first phase in Uttar Pradesh on February 10.
After this, the second phase will be on February 14, the third phase on February 20, the fourth on February 23, the fifth on February 27, the sixth on March 3 and the seventh phase on March 7. The Election Commission said in a press conference on Saturday that there will be a complete ban on on-road travel, padyatra, bike rally, cycle journey and physical rally till January 15 due to the increasing cases of the corona.
The commission said that no physical rally will be held during this period. Parties can campaign their elections through digital and virtual means. At the same time, only 5 people will be allowed during the door to door campaign. After reviewing the situation of the corona virus after January 15, the Election Commission will give further instructions. Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra has said that conducting elections during the Corona period is very challenging. CEC further said that we have worked for 6 months to hold elections.
