Lucknow: The Prohibition of Unlawful Religion Conversion Ordinance, introduced by CM Yogi Adityanath to curb Love Jihad in Uttar Pradesh, has started to show effect. So far, two cases have been registered in UP under this law. Amid increasing number of lawsuits, Hazrat, the Dargah of Bareilly, has declared a forcible conversion to be un-Islamic by issuing fatwa.

According to the information received, Maulana Pratiq Ahmad Qadri, the head of the National Sunni Ulama Council, questioned Markaz-e-Darul Ifta, located in the Dargah Ala Hazrat campus of Bareilly, asking, 'Is a Muslim boy can force a non-muslim girl from conversion by marrying her?  Also, does love jihad have any existence in Sharia? '

While answering this question, President of Darul Ifta, Mufti Musibur Rahman Rajvi has issued a fatwa. In response to a question asked on Love Jihad, Rajvi said, 'There is no place for such a thing in Islam. It is a social evil that extends from Western civilization. Love is the English word while Jihad is the Arabic word. They have no relation with each other. Love jihad has no status in the eyes of the Sharia '.
