Lucknow: A case of attempt to marriage has come to light after conversion from Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh. Sharikur Rahman, a resident of Kot in Khakhreru police station area of Fatehpur, changed his name a few days ago and befriended a young girl and then drove her to his village. Police are said to have informed the family of the girl from West Bengal and started an investigation on the apprehension that the youth belonged to a network.

According to reports, the young girl was brought to the village by Sharikur Rahman. Her dress made people suspect that she belonged to another religion. On Friday (November 12, 2021), Sharikur Rahman was about to marry the girl, but before he could do so, the villagers informed the Superintendent of Police. The police then took immediate action and detained the duo before the marriage.
