Lucknow: A sensational case of love jihad has come to light in UP's Ghaziabad, adjoining the national capital, Delhi. The woman has lodged a case at the Indirapuram police station. Police said further action will be taken after the investigation. The woman alleged that about 8 years ago, Shahnawaz called himself Sumit Yadav and trapped her in his love trap. Then the two began to live in a live-in relationship. In the meantime, they both had a son. When the woman expressed of marriage, the accused took her to Mansa Devi and filled the vermillion in her head.

When the woman talked about marrying him with full rituals, he took her to Bihar. When she went there, she found out that her husband was a Muslim. The woman says that after this, she was pressured to do Islam and the husband started torturing her. He even tried to make her Muslim by circumcising her son. The accused also tried to get her into prostitution, but she was not ready. During this time, the victim was kept locked in a room, she was constantly beaten and starved. Even the victim's calling or exiting was prohibited.

Somehow the victim met a man and went to the local police station and pleaded. The victim's aide said that this was Shahnawaz's second marriage. The first marriage was also done by changing his name to a Hindu girl in a similar manner. She has a child from her first marriage. Ghaziabad Superintendent of Police City Gyanendra Kumar said that on the complaint of the woman, the police have registered a case. The police will take necessary action after investigating the entire case.
