Lucknow: Another name is going to be changed in Uttar Pradesh after renaming districts and railway stations in Uttar Pradesh. It has been recommended to rename Village Panchayat Miyaganj in the Unnao district of the State to Mayaganj. District DM Ravindra Kumar has sent a report to the Chief Secretary, Department of Panchayati Raj in this regard. It is being reported that Miyaganj will be renamed Mayaganj in the near future.
According to the report, in 2017, CM Yogi Adityanath had announced the renaming of the Gram Panchayat during the election campaign itself. As per the letter sent to the Government on 24th August, a proposal has been passed to rename Gram Panchayat Miyaganj as Mayaganj. Now, as soon as it is sealed by the Government, the name of Miyaganj Gram Panchayat will be Mayaganj. The administration is now gearing up for it.
Recently, a decision was taken at the newly constituted Zilla Panchayat Board meeting on Monday (August 16, 2021) to rename the Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh as Harigarh. The renaming resolution was passed unanimously and has been sent to the Government.
