Yogi govt to set up oxygen plants in 37 districts of UP

Lucknow: The Government of India is constantly trying to address the shortage of oxygen and ensure its easy availability amid the ever-increasing infection of corona epidemic in the country. In the same vein, the Centre has approved the Uttar Pradesh government to set up oxygen plants in 37 districts.

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to set up these plants at the earliest after getting permission from the central government. CM Yogi has said that our target is to increase oxygen production from 743 tonnes per day to more than 800 tonnes. He informed that IIT Motilal Nehru Regional Engineering College at Kanpur, BHU, AKTU, MMTU Gorakhpur, and Prayagraj will audit the demand and supply of oxygen in all the districts so that oxygen can be monitored in real-time.

At the same time, CM Yogi has also said that empty oxygen tankers are being transported through Railways and Air Force. Tankers loaded through Oxygen Express are being brought to the State. A Spokesperson of the Yogi Government of Uttar Pradesh said that 4370 oxygen concentrators have been provided in all the districts, which has provided 20 such oxygen concentrators to each community health centre.
