Lucknow: People went in state of shock when Mankapur village in Hathras district in up when lakhs of people suddenly disappeared from the rural Bank of Aryavart. All account holders of the bank are exposed to receipts of money deposited in the bank account, but this amount has not been credited to their account.

The bank manager and the cashier accused of missing the money to the higher authorities. At present, the accused has been shifted from the bank to another bank. Angry account holders have gathered at the bank branch to protest and demand their money back into the accounts.  The bank account holder, Lallana Prasad, has reported that 3 lakh 10 thousand rupees have suddenly disappeared from his account. When they arrived to match the passbook in the bank, they were stunned. Bank officials said their account did not have a deposit.

The same kind of complaints came from the account holders. Rakesh Yadav said that I had deposited 50 thousand rupees in my account. His slip also got me from the bank. Then when I went to the bank to withdraw money, I told me that the amount was not credited to your account. The investigating officer, S D Schroedter, says the economic losses are being assessed and the account holders are being matched with the receipts of the books.
