New Delhi: Inspector Lakshmi Chauhan and a soldier accused of grabbing Rs 70 lakh from the recovered amount have surrendered in Meerut court on Thursday. Explain that while in charge of the Link Road police station in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, Inspector Lakshmi Chauhan had recovered Rs 70 lakh from the amount of Rs 1 crore recovered from the robbers along with six policemen.

Laxmi Chauhan and other accused escaped as soon as the matter was reported to the higher authorities. Since then, the Ghaziabad police was constantly trying to arrest the accused. On Thursday, Ghaziabad police also announced a reward of 25-25 thousand rupees on the accused. Inspector Laxmi Chauhan and the six soldiers accompanying him were absconding since the case. The Ghaziabad police made all efforts to arrest the accused, but nothing happened to them.
