Lucknow: Love jihad cases are coming to light from different parts of the country day in and day out. The accused who did so are also caught, but for the first time in Uttar Pradesh, the accused of love jihad has been sentenced. The Kanpur district court, while pronouncing its verdict in the case, also imposed 10 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 30,000 on the accused Javed alias Munna. The court also ordered Rs 20,000 to the victim as compensation. According to the report, DGC crime Dilip Kumar has termed it as the first case of punishment in love jihad. He has said that the accused had cheated the Hindu girl by hiding his true identity. He had also trapped her in his trap and raped her. The accused has been sentenced by Additional District Judge Pawan Srivastava.
DGC said that the case dates from May 15, 2017. During that time, Javed, a Muslim youth from a minor Hindu girl from the Juhi police station area of Kanpur, met him as a Hindu Munna. Gradually the two started talking and became friends. This friendship turned into love. Then one day the accused took the young woman away with him by giving her a marriage snare. He also raped her. The disturbed family members complained to the Juhi police station after the daughter suddenly went missing from her house. Police also took immediate action and arrested the accused the next day and recovered the teenager and handed her over to her family.
Meanwhile, the girl came to know that the boy she had run away with was not a Hindu but a Muslim and had molested her. The accused had then pressured her to convert the girl by stating her true identity. However, in the case, the police had registered a case of POCSO and rape against the accused on the complaint of the victim's mother.
