Lucknow: A shocking case has come to light from Lucknow, the capital of UP. While a man gave triple-talaq to his wife within the Lucknow Civil Court premises. The wife's guilt was that she refused to take chewing gum from her husband. Speaking to the media, Simmi, 30, a resident of Indira Nagar, said that she married Saeed Rashid in 2004. Since marriage, husband and in-laws had started harassing her and her family for dowry.
Frustrated by this, Simmi had filed a dowry harassment case against the in-laws. According to Simmi, her husband came to the civil court on Monday to hear the same dowry harassment case. At that time, Simmi was talking to his lawyer. In the meantime, Saeed came to him and gave her chewing gum, but Simmi refused to take chewing gum. Saeed became so angry that he abused Simmi and then gave him three locks.
After giving up three talaqs he immediately walked out of the court premises. The victim, Simmi, then lodged a case at the Wazirganj police station. However, Simmi has also alleged that the police have not taken any action against her accused husband Saeed Rashid even after the case was registered. Superintendent of Police (SP) Vikas Chandra Tripathi said that the ongoing dispute between the couple is under consideration in the court.
