A man who was declared dead in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, was alive just before being buried. His grave was dug up and when he was about to be buried, some members of the family noticed movement in his body. Then everyone was shocked and stopped crying. Soon after, Mohammad Furqan was taken to the hospital where he was placed on a ventilator.

According to information, 20-year-old Furakan was admitted to a private hospital on June 21 after an accident. On Monday, he was pronounced dead and his body was transported to his home by ambulance. Mohammed Irfan, the elder brother of Furakan, said, "We were deeply saddened by the death of Furakan when someone saw movement in his body. We immediately took Furakan to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital where doctors said he was alive and put him on ventilator support."

"Before we had paid Rs 7 lakh to the private hospital and when we told them that we no longer have the money, they declared Furakan dead on Monday," said Lucknow Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Narendra Agarwal. "We have taken cognizance of the matter and it will be thoroughly investigated."

The doctor treating Furakan said, "The patient's condition is serious but he is certainly not brain dead. His pulse, blood pressure and brain is working. He has been put on ventilator support."
