Lucknow: The stir over panchayat elections in Uttar Pradesh has intensified. Sunday was the last day to become a voter. Assistant District Election Officer of Kanpur VK Srivastava has said that the time to become a voter has ended. The final voter list will be published on 22 January. Names will be added and removed by reviewing all the applications that have just arrived. All applications will be verified.

He further said that the committee is constantly conducting surveys and reviews regarding the reservation. It will also be announced in February. If the conditions are right then elections are proposed to be held in March. His preparations are getting louder. While giving information, Panchayati Raj Minister Bhupendra Singh has told that an important meeting is going to be held in this regard on 10 January. In response to a question, he clarified that the reservation of the district panchayats has been decided from the state headquarters and this time it will be the same, the reservation of the seats of the remaining gram panchayats and area panchayats will be determined from the district headquarters itself.

During the conversation, he told that the mandate will be issued in this regard, there is still time for the reservation process. He informed that between March 15 and the first week of April, three-tier panchayat elections will be held in UP. The Panchayati Raj department is engaged in completing its preparations based on this time limit. After the delimitation is complete, the process of reservation determination will be done.
