Lucknow: In view of corona pandemic this year, there are many things that have come to a standstill. There was a lockdown in the past and the process of panchayat elections in Uttar Pradesh has started as soon as the lockdown is over. Under the recent information, the state Election Commission released a detailed programme on panchayat elections last Tuesday. In October, booth label Officers (Blo) are going to check the voter list.

Thereafter, the voter list will be published on 29th December. After the news comes to the fore, it has become clear that this year, Panchayat Elections will not be organised this year. The tenure of the existing gram Pradhans of 59,163-gram panchayats of Uttar Pradesh is going to end on 25th December. On 13th January next year, the tenure of the District Panchayat Chairperson and the area Panchayat Chairperson will end of March 17 next year.

The voters list revision programme has been announced on Tuesday, which lasts for about three and a half months. Now, it is difficult to get the panchayat elections done this year because the election Commission needs at least six months to prepare for Panchayat Elections. It is believed that the Uttar Pradesh government can get the election of the District Panchayat member, BDC, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat member together this time.
